On Tuesday, December 25, 2018, at approximately 8:40 a.m., Oswego Police were dispatched to the 400 block of Greenview Lane for a report of a man who was on foot approaching homes while yelling and screaming. Responding officers located the man, Jamie D. GUNTER, and found a firearm in his possession. GUNTER did not have a concealed carry license or Firearm Owners Identification Card. Police determined GUNTER required medical attention and paramedics transported him without incident to an area hospital for evaluation.
On Wednesday, December 26, 2018, the Kendall County State’s Attorney’s Office approved a felony charge against GUNTER for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon. A Kendall County Judge issued a warrant for GUNTER with a bond of $175,000, 10% to apply.
On Friday, December 28, 2018, Oswego Police arrested GUNTER upon his release from a hospital in Aurora and took him into custody. He was brought to the Oswego Police Headquarters at approximately 3:40 p.m. for processing and was transferred to the Kendall County Public Safety Center pending a court date.
