Straight Forward Fashion by Sarah

So, I have been super obsessed with “Shop Small” and little boutiques recently. I happened upon one in Morris, IL when the family was in town. You know, I have never been downtown Morris ever. I usually go to this coffee shop, Brewed Awakenings, but never actually made it downtown. When I saw all these boutiques down there, it piqued my interest. My first thought, I need to go in these stores and shop around, see what they have, what makes each them different from the rest. One store stood out to me that day. Maybe it was the graphic tees, the customer service, what the sign looked like, but I fell in love with it. The minute I walked into Oleanders Boutique I was hooked!

When standing across the street, you can see their front window. It has outfits dressed on mannequins, decorations that are specific to the displays. Their sign above the store is in huge letters, and truthfully that’s what caught my attention when I got out of the car that day. It was so interesting and rustic looking that I had to go in there.

When I first walked in, I was greeted immediately by one of the owners. There was a center table with different types of jeans and graphic tees on it, dresses hanging up on racks in the front window. Seriously presentation is everything, and this store has it. Everything was so organized, and I loved seeing so many different pieces right after walking in. You had your tanks, tee shirts, jumpsuits, I mean everything that a boutique should have. One thing that I liked was they carry a couple brands that I am obsessed with; Flying Monkey Denim being one of them. Those jeans are like butter on your legs comfortable. Sounds gross but they have some serious stretch! The ones pictured here are new and have fringe on the bottom and are a light denim.  They are so comfortable! One of the newer brands that I found there are Eunina Jeans. They are seriously comfortable and so stretchy! They have various styles in store, but the one pictured here has some destruction on them, and the hem is so cute.

Since I have found Oleanders, I have become obsessed! I have been in there weekly, like every Saturday. Not even kidding! I always have something on hold their now. The store is truly amazing, and the owners are so great. They put 110% into their customer service, seriously though. When I was in the dressing room, she just kept bringing me things that she thought I would like, and everything I was handed was dead on with what I was looking for. There are always new styles coming in, and if you like their Facebook page, you get to see them go live and try on new styles. Go check them out if you’re ever in the Morris area, you won’t be disappointed!
